I enjoy nitpicking and finding different things to improve at almost every venue I visit. This time, though, I am pleased to say I wouldn’t change a thing. Also, one word of advice: PLEASE COME HUNGRY!

I went with two close friends of mine and from start to finish, the experience was astounding; from being greeted at the front with great hospitality, to the excellent food and drinks. When I first sat down it was very relaxing, with a little music from my favorites: Sinatra, Martin and Darrin.

I always like to start my Italian dinner with a nice glass of wine and bread. I was not disappointed. I had asked the server for some of her opinions and (to my surprise) she suggested the house wine. I was very pleased; we got a bottle of house red and house white. They were very tasty and not very expensive, especially for wine at a high-end Italian restaurant.

Next, ordering food actually was an experience I never have encountered before. The server used an iPad with pictures of all the meals as a reference for the three of us. This really made it easier to get an idea of what exactly I wanted to order and made the food look delicious. We ended up making it easy and going with their famous Italian meatballs over salad as well as splitting a large spaghetti and meatballs. They say Al Pacino thinks Cafe Martorano has the best homemade meatballs in the world.

We also stayed to relax and finish our wine. After 10 p.m., it really started to liven up; it wasn’t too much of a party, but a different, enjoyable, exciting experience. The music gets turned up a little and gives a great feel throughout. They play anything from classic R&B and disco to today’s hip-hop and classic slow jams. TVs also are all throughout the restaurant playing, from what I have gathered, old school Italian favorites.

It was actually some of the best food and all-around experience I have had in Atlantic City and I have been living in the area for quite some time now. I would recommend it to any family or friends who are in the Atlantic City area.
