4. Dino’s Sub & Pizza Shop
In summer time expect an hour wait at the busiest sub shop in Margate City, a sleepy town 5 miles south of the Atlantic City. Famous for their subs, Dino’s only uses fresh Formica bread on all their sandwiches. Have your order ready as customer service training is minimal and the staff has little patience for indecisiveness or questions about their products. Work on the customer service and Dino’s could move up the list.
Inside tip: Stay away from the pizza and french fries.

3. White House
The originator of the Atlantic City submarine. White House opened their doors in 1946 serving delicious Atlantic City cheesesteaks served on fresh bread from Formica Bakery. Legend has it that Formica Rolls get their distinctive characteristics and taste from a protected aquifer that supplies water to the bakery. White House is an iconic classic in Atlantic City. The anticipation of lining up on Arctic Avenue is apart of the experience. The wait is worth it. You taste their history in every bite. 2. Spanky and Son Subs & Deli
If you are a local, you probably have heard of this spot. Located about 1 south from the tourist district, you will find Spanky’s located in an unassuming neighborhood corner of North Trenton and Porter Avenue. Customer Service is what set Spanky’s apart from the others. Owner’s Carmen and Spanky make the experience unlike any. How about the subs? Out of this world. Quality goes a long way when the owners are cooking your food. Don’t tell them we sent you. The locals may get mad.

1. Tony Boloney’s
Tony Boloney is a food experience that will never be matched at any other restaurant you will ever go. Bolongey’s is famous for their Cheesesteak Ole,’ winner of Guy Fieri Cheesesteak Challenge. This is not your traditional cheesesteak. The whimsical menu describes it as a 10 spiced steak, with fried onions, jack cheese, chipotle-house sauce with lettuce and tomato. What does that equal? A messy sloppy sandwich with flavor abound, and the best cheesesteaks in Atlantic City.
Owner Mike Hauke has modernized the everyday Atlantic City Sub shop by his farm to table approach towards his menu items. He makes his own mozzarella cheese and he doesn’t mind sharing it with you when you walk in the doors. Everything on the menu is eclectic, from the names of the subs to the food truck he calls the mustache mobile. Oh yeah, and the pizza is probably the best you will have in Atlantic City.
