Dottie’s Dinette is a wonderful addition to the bustling development that is engulfing the once blue collar Fishtown neighborhood. With new restaurants popping up everyday in red-hot Fishtown, it’s refreshing to see that Garces veteran, Susan Vanvreede (formerly of Distrito), has created a no-frills menu focusing on classic comfort foods and serving breakfast all day.

Dottie’s Dinette Serving Quality Products

Dottie’s is not your typical retro diner with phone book menus serving low quality food service products. They focused their classics on quality ingredients that speak for themselves.

Greenstreet Coffee

Dottie’s Dinette serves Greenstreet Coffee roasted in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia. Founded by brothers, Tom and Chris Molieri, Greenstreet quality is evident in their responsibly sourced direct trade practices. Chris developed his knowledge for coffee while living in Portland, Oregon and brought his passion back to Philadelphia where he teamed up with his brother in the pursuit of the best cup of coffee

Benton Bacon

Dottie’s Dinette serves Benton Bacon. Benton pork products are sourced from the Smoky Mountain Country in Tennessee. Benton’s is a family business that started in 1947 and consistently praised for their distinctive hickory smoked flavor.

Wagyu Beef

Dottie’s Dinette features Wagyu beef hamburgers. Wagyu is a Japanese beef cattle breed that is horned and either black or red in color. Wagyu beef is tender due to its intra-muscular fat cells, known as marbling.

My Experience at Dottie’s Dinette

I ordered an egg white omelet with bell peppers and American cheese with a side of home fries. Dottie’s homefries where a departure from the ordinary diner fare, boasting shredded potatoes, peppers and red onions.

My omelet was cooked perfectly and folded thin like a crepe. It was stuffed with finely diced bell peppers and American cheese. I also enjoyed a glass of their fresh squeezed orange juice. My dining mate feasted on their $2 pancakes.

We aren’t the only one’s that love Dottie’s!

Philly Eater Ranks Dottie’s number 7 on the best new brunch spots in Philly.
