I have to say, I was not terribly excited about going to a vegan restaurant on an empty stomach. However the people I was with were mostly vegan and had heard many great things. So we decided to give it a shot. I actually never have eaten vegan food before but I have heard great things and I am always open to something new.

It is a wonderful restaurant by the look; the atmosphere was really great, very relaxing, open and inviting. I was stumped about what to order, so I decided to go with the server’s recommendations. I ordered the Rutabaga Fondue, since I thought it was weird to find a “fondue” at a vegan restaurant. To say the least it was rich, creamy and amazing to the last drop, something I would get every single time. I was shocked it was even a vegan dish, probably my favorite thing on the menu.

For my next portion, I decided to go with the Braciole, a smoked and roasted eggplant, Italian salsa verde and cured olive purée. It was pretty good; everyone else around me seemed to enjoy his or her food as well, and maybe a little more, than I did. It was most likely because I don’t eat this type of food, but I was surprised I liked everything that came out.

It was very relaxing and not rushed whatsoever, which was very nice. We moved onto dessert, which is what I heard is the best part of the dinner. I love cheesecake, so I went with the Meyer Lemon Cheesecake. It actually was my favorite part of the entire dinner. I once again almost had to ask the server if it was really a vegan dish. It was perfect for dessert, light, sweet and delicious.

I really could not complain about anything we ordered. The drinks were great, the dinner was great, the dessert was even better. I really can get used to that kind of food. I will be returning, especially for that dessert menu.
